Denilson: Fabregas will shine as captain

Midfielder Denilson has said that new captain Francesc Fabregas will shine in his role.

Fabregas' tenure got off to a good start after he led the team to a 1-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League, ensuring that the Gunners progressed to the next round of the competition.

Denilson said: "He's a big player, the man who has the boss' trust. He's only 21 but with a lot of experience and he is approved of as a captain.

"He did demonstrate some personality on the pitch and he was helped by William Gallas, Mikael Silvestre and Manuel Almunia because it was his first time [as captain].

"Everyone knows it's not easy but he had a great performance and showed some character."
