Striker Robin van Persie, who scored both goals in the 2-1 win over Chelsea yesterday, has said that it was a victory for the team, and that the focus should not be on him.
The Dutchman played down his role in the significant win over the club's London rivals, and pointed out the significance of the win that clawed back some ground on the Blues in the title race.
van Persie said: "It was a big win. In the last 20 minutes we showed a lot of character, a lot of discipline so big compliments to the whole team because it was a tough game.
"Because playing against Chelsea on their ground and when you go 1-0 down, you know it's going to be really difficult and if you come back and win the game in the end I think that shows it all.
"It is not my day, it's our day. I was the one who scored the two goals but that doesn't really matter. It was our day - the whole squad really gave extra of everything.
"If you win the game like that it gives you a lot of confidence and this is what we need at the moment."
van Persie was also asked about his relationship with former captain William Gallas, after speculation that the relationship between the two have been frosty to say the least.
He added: "There wasn't a problem at all between (him and Gallas). He's a respectable colleague of mine and a good player."

Gooners 4 life! The win was well deserved. Chelsea might have played better, but over the years we have played fantastically but lacked Results so what really matters is our Win. But can we continue in this vein and not lose to smaller clubs?
