Adebayor: We proved our character

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor says that the win against Chelsea has proved that the team have character and passion.

The Gunners beat Chelsea 2-1 after going a goal down to a Johan Djourou own-goal.

Chelsea had never conceded in the second half of a match this season but Arsenal replied with two goals in three minutes from Robin van Persie.

Adebayor said: "It was a very good win. We needed character and we went through a very difficult moment and people wrote us off in the Premier League but the message we have sent out is that we have a good team.

"We have always been together and we have forgotten what happened before. We always believe that we can do something and that is what we tried to show today.

"If we had lost we would have never said the title race was over for us. We had to keep on going until the end of the season. We know we have a great team and a great squad and we are ready for it.

"Winning [at Chelsea] means everybody can say we are keeping our title dreams alive but the main thing is to keep going. Maybe we have a little bit more concentration for the big teams and that is something we are going to work on very hard. We all believe in the boss. He is here to help us and we are here to help the fans.

"These are the things we are going to discuss in the dressing room so we can do better against the lower teams."

Everyone know you have character against a greater team. Show us the character against lesser teams, shows your passion and characters against the lesser teams and we will see.
