Listen... can you hear it?

Has anybody noticed how quiet the Chelsea players have been this week? It hadn't even occurred to me until I wrote that sentence, but whilst Joe Cole took time out last week from watching his bird on "I'm a Celebrity..." to rubbish Arsenal's pretty football, they have been conspicuous in their silence since Sunday, enjoy the silence indeed.

If only their fans had been as silent on Sunday. I didn't mention it yesterday, but the abuse directed at Arsène Wenger was loud and clear and unacceptable. Yet, as with the dangerous tackling of Terry and Ivanovic, it has scarcely been mentioned in the media.

I don't know what's worse; that in the 21st century, people can go to a football match and think it's alright to shout things like that, or that it's so ingrained in the national football psyche that the media don't think it worthy of comment. Sad days.

Not to dwell on it though, we are, if not back in the race - and amazingly SurAlex thinks we are - we've given ourselves a chance of being in it in the New Year. We simply must, must, must beat Wigan on Saturday. If our kids can do it so comfortably, there really is no excuse for the Chelsea slayers not to.

Win this game and it's the beginning of a run, the first push of momentum, rather than the DLWLLW cycle that we've been on.

@MAX: We lost against burnley but our reserve team played them unlike Chelski who went on full strength but were beaten by Burnley...

you are absolutely right we must beat wigan on saturday. I think after the united game the lads may have taken aston villa a little bit for granted but i think they have learned their lesson. now lets hope that we can beat wigan on saturday i dont mind if its convincing or not because these are the type of teams we will have to learn to grind results out of. But lets hope we win and chelsea and the pool slip up its time we had a little luck and consistency.

That Joe cole is a mug who has more than once attacked us like a coward in the paper. I just dismiss it - I prefer we play them,l get a great result to shove in his face, and leave that to history. Afterall, results are remembered more than headlines.

MARK RANDALL not fit to wear an arsenal shirt will never be a first team regular so why is he still at my club, ive seen this average player play in the carling cup for a few years now, how many times does arsene have to see this guy play to relies he just is not good enuf.

sometimes arsene holds onto player to long when he should give them the boot. for example how chances did he give jeremie aliadiere before we finally sold him and lets not forget justin hoyte and we still own senderos say no more

now i fear the same will happpen with nicklas bendtner who i feel needs to be sold asap because he's crap,

does anyone think any of the following player are any good:

Mark Randall
nicklas bendtner
lukasz fabianski
denilson
manuel almunia

But I suppose singing homophobic songs about Ashley Cole is perfectly acceptable is it? Ever heard of the word hypocrit?

Very true i was disgusted to see Terry's tackle get a yellow card, but not surprised at all, as just like normal he cannot do no wrong. If we look back to the Germany England game somehow the pundits were blaming Carson!!! It is rediculous to see how as England captain Terry gets away with murder.

More importantly though the lads have to get together if we can pick up some form now and go unbeaten through to january by which time hopefully rosicky, eduardo, eboue, and possibly walcott will all be able to strengthen our challenge.

I think it will be the gooners being quiet this morning, maybe you can cheer your selves up by treating yourselves to a nice breakfast at McDonalds. Ha Ha Ha Ha! What where you saying about the boys being able to beat wigan or was last night just a practice run? You are going to stay inconsistant untill the end of the season and secure your normal 3rd or 4th place. If your lucky.........
