Wenger: Title race is still wide open

Manager Arsène Wenger is adamant that the title race is still wide open, despite the Gunners failing to capitalise on a day when both Manchester United and Liverpool drew their games.

Arsenal drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough but had taken the lead in the game only to surrender that lead a few minutes later.

Wenger said: "The league is wide open but we are in a position that every point we drop we are asked about it.

"I understand that, but champions are people who never stop and we can show that belief to keep going.

"We can do that in the next game.

"Of course [it is an enormous task], but we don't think about that at the moment.

"We must just believe that each next game is one to reduce the distance between us and Liverpool."

Eze and David you've said it all. Something is TERRIBLY wrong and few seem to notice. Those like Gallas who complain are treated as outcasts.

some one else taking arsene wengers place....lol...are u insane he made ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB.before he came they were nothing....its just that he depends too much on his young blood...and i think if rosicky toure and eduardo cme back it will be much better...Because if we can beat man united and chelsea that also at stamford bridge and if we get rosicky back in the midfield it will be good...he jst needs to buy atleast 1 centre back and an experienced midfielder thats all required because denilson i dont think can give his 100% in all the games and v dont have a replacement for him

He's right - it is wide open. The question is can the current team compete? Sadly not at present it seems. We urgently need some experienced players in mid field and defence plus our injured first team players back. Then perhaps we could be back in the hunt.

Has anyone else wondered why our players seem to get injured quite so much and quite so severely? Is it bad luck? Are they just not physically strong enough or is something not right in training or, perhaps, attitude?

What has happened to the Arsenal?

Why is it okay for an Arsenal player to play bad two games in a row and still be guaranteed a starting place next weekend. A different Arsenal turns up every week. Against the likes of Man U, its the Arsenal we know, but against the likes of Hull, Fulham etc complacency kicks in.

Arsene Wenger needs to have a long hard look at his squad and think realistically has he got the quality to win a domestic cup, talkless of the champions league?

It hurts when you see players wearing the jersey but not playing for it. That's the difference between Arsenal and Man Utd. At Man Utd you have to earn your place in the starting line up, whereas at Arsenal as long as you have potential you play despite how poor your form is. Against MIDDLESBROUGH why would it 80 mins to make a sub for a player who has made no impact in the game, lost the ball continuously and just wasn't pulling his weight. I understand we have injuries in the camp, but when players are not making a difference we need to make a change. Denilson is better employed in the middle, why not play him with fabregas and play song just behind. Leaving Adebayor up top and V.Persie and Vela working the flanks. When Nasri is fit, revert back to a 4-4-2 and put Vela in midefield. Involve players such as Ramsey, Wilshere and Simpson more as I feel they would make a better contribution than some of the regulars.
This is why I feel we have seen a drop in form in some of the big players, because they feel their position is cemented.

I feel Arsene Wenger has grown to attached to his players and this has clouded his judgement when choosing his squad. I saw him shaking his head numerous times on saturday, but I was thinking he is the person who has the authority to make the decisions that count to turn a game into our favour.

Someone should send a doctor to see if Wenger is mentally deficient. He treats us like us fans are retarded. Things must be changed in January or we are going to be a midtable team come May.

I think wenger's lost ideas he either steps down and take a post up stairs and let dennis or some fresh blood take over. I'm tired of seeing a team I love so much play like some bunch of lazy hags, I can't wear my jersey out on the street that's how bad it is

Yes I agree that its wide open at this instant. I just hope you don't come out in April, 27 points adrift and still tell us its possible.
