Adebayor: Webb made a mistake

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor has said that referee Howard Webb made a mistake in sending him off for two bookable offences.

Adebayor said: "Of course I'm annoyed - the defender threw himself on the floor as if I put a knife in him.

"We're all here to play and if you win or lose you have to do it with 11 players. What he did wasn't fair play at all.

"I hope the referee goes home and watches it - he will see it was a foul but I didn't deserve a card. It was a mistake.

"He said it was for my contact with the leg but if I don't put my body in there I would never score a goal in this league.

"I just wanted to protect the ball. A striker like me, Robbie Keane, (Nicolas) Anelka or (Didier) Drogba always have to protect the ball and that's what happened.

"At the end of the end of the day he has made a mistake and he has to recognise that what he has done is a little mistake."

Markus please don't insult Arsenal player(s), because if you are another's club supporter then support them not depreciate other clubs players. Arsenal is a great team. Arsenal is my heart and my soul. If you don't support Arsenal then don't post comments like that.

Markus Miod - I don't remember Pele, Maradona or George Best ever being legends at the Emirates. The reason Wenger uses external elements as excuses is to not damage the squad confidence. Why pick out players to criticise, they know when they've not played well, so why kick them when they're down!
Also, it's my understanding that you can't appeal two yellow cards, but I agree with Jaba, it was a soft sending off, he was simply planting his foot between the ball and the opponent, it wasn't malicious in any way!

Arsenal should appeal for the redcard like other clubs do i.e chelsea, thats not a redcard the FA should look at it critically.because as a player you have to guide your ball.

i see no reason why the referee shouldn't be brandishing the red to emmanuel...everytime i watched aresnal matches players, like him would always think about winning the game and without regards to their opponents, will fry them and intimidated them...saying rough play, defensive and even worse their grounds are bumppy so it has spoilt their game. I think if emmanuel were to be a legend at the emmirates like the likes of pele, maradona, george best...how would others feel if he did that to them...shutup emmanuel. Grow up emmanuel for after all you arsenal are all bunch of crying boys.
