Van Persie praise for Denilson and Song

Striker Robin van Persie has praised the efforts of Alex Song and Denilson, whom he said put in good performances today, along with his other team mates.

The Dutch international himself gave Arsenal the lead in the first half but a defensive lapse allowed Liverpool to equalise in the first half.

van Persie said: "We said to ourselves we have to keep in the game and we had to fight until the end.

"If you look at Alex (Song) and Denilson and how many metres they have covered today in the middle it was a big compliment.

"We all wanted to win the game but we are not that unhappy.

"It's not what we wanted but it's not really that bad after all that has happened.

"It was nice to score because I haven't scored for a bit. It was a nice goal to score. I took it down well and scored with my right foot."

Robin it was a fine goal. Song and Denilson played well, but they are still young and unexperienced. In my opinion Arsenal needs at least one experienced midfielder and one better central defender would be good. And one of my wishes would be that Arsenal could buy David Villa, because he is just an extraordinary striker, but i don't want to say that Robin, Emmanuel or Eduardo are bad no not at all. After one of Arsenals best Henry left I think Arsenal lack a bit of sharpness. But this is only m opinion. Go Gunners bring some silverware home.

I think denilson is one paced, can't pass more than 5 yards and not a ball winner. We need better.

I think we should buy the players we need and not Tevez Avshram - a natural winger - one that could play either side - a defensive midfield player - a centre back! i dont know what you guys think but to finish the liverpool game with a midfield of Diaby Denilson Song and Eboue is a disgrace - we really need to buy - Denilson we end up being a good player but the others should be no where near the Arsenal first team - and where does Diaby play why cant he defend/tackle - seems to get the ball try a trick and then loose it - so much for pat's replacement!

i think it was a well executed goal.i was expecting it to go over the bar because he was already leaning back and to make matters worse he had to hit it with his weaker foot.well done robin!
