Wenger: I am not choosing between Toure and Gallas

Manager Arsène Wenger has said that he is not picking favourites over defenders William Gallas and Kolo Touré.

Touré, who has been at the club longer than Gallas, is usually first-choice but recently he has dropped down the pecking order.

Gallas has been picked more often and most fans are wondering if the manager now favours the former Arsenal captain over the Ivory Coast international.

Wenger said: "It's not a question of Kolo Touré or William Gallas. It is that the two together are a bit short in the air. We needed to add some size centrally.

"I think they get on, personally. They get on much better than people think and if you lived with us every day you would see that. Anyway nobody can prove fantastic friendships help you to win football games.

"Kolo did have a little problem when he came back from the African Nations Cup [earlier this year]. He wasn't exactly the same sharpness any more. Now, he has come back to his best level and he works very hard in training.

"He is a fantastic guy, Kolo Touré."

I think Wenger is making a big mistake in these two players,Gallas is at the end of his career and has nothing to offer while Kolo still has at least 2 very good seasons to offer

none of them are good . toure has been rubbish because he cost us the champions league and was at foult for the 2 goals stoke scored and we lost 2-1
gallas doesn't have no experience and i would rather have the 5m without gallas in the swap with cashley cole. overall gallas wins

What he means to say is that he is choosing between the two of them. That is the main point of his comments. Gallas or Toure alongside Djourou.

Gallas is winning by far at the moment.

I hope wenger is right, he doesn't need to pick between the 2 and it would be nice to have the old kolo back.
