Wenger praise for van Persie

Manager Arsène Wenger has praised stand-in captain Robin van Persie after he led his side to a 3-1 win over Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup.

Wenger said: "Robin is always interested in team problems and affairs and always wants to sort things out. In today's team he was the longest-serving member and I think he did his job very well.

"I believe he is one of the players who is a big example of how well you can have an evolution.

"When you consider him when he came here and where he is today he has evolved very well.

"Not many would have believed that [he could be Arsenal captain] when he arrived."

Van Persie is a great player and scores great goals for us but i belive were going in the wrong direction we need to buy in Jan or 4th place could be lost.We need to buy proven players and not young and up coming as we have plenty of them already.

van persie , sagna, fabregas and clichy have been our best players this season. if we didn,t have them quadruple we would be 30 points away from the top

Incorrect. Arsenal did not go down a goal down to a first half strike, no goals were scored in the first half, I was at the Stadium. van Persie scored with a header, then the own goal, which Bendtner claimed. Then Plymouth got a goal then van Persie scored his second.
