Walcott frustrated over contract negotiations

Walcott frustrated over contract negotiations

By Jonathan Chong on Sunday, January 4, 2009

Striker Theo Walcott is apparently frustrated with ongoing contract negotiations, according to the News of the World.

Walcott has come of age this season but suffered a shoulder injury which has more or less ruled him out for much of the remaining season.

Walcott's representatives feel he is being taken for granted, and a source close to Walcott told the News of the World: "The club said talks would start in October because they wanted to see how Theo started the season.

"Theo accepted that because he has the utmost respect for Arsène Wenger. Most people would agree Theo was one of Arsenal's best players until he picked up his latest shoulder injury.

"He was doing well for both his club and country but still nothing happened on the contract front.

"The fact is, he feels as if he's being taken for granted at the moment, as if people simply expect him to sign a contract."

Mr. Arsene Wenger must take this matter seriously before the vultures flash the cash and woo Theo. Wenger must have learnt by now that Arsenal is not a grooming ground for other clubs. We must groom, nature and keep and this costs money!

I am not Powerful enough in the club i have spoken to Wenger a few times i no him through my dad but all i know is that he would not treat Walcott like this and it has something to do with the board of directors ..

I no for a fact Wenger would not treat Walcott like this as this is all Wenger has been harping on about since we won the FA Cup back in 2005 so if Walcott was to leave as a result of this then i would give up hope and give up trust of our GAFFER!

don't get your knickers in a knot. jury's still out on him. he's shown glimpses only, and this is after being with us for 3 YEARS. he's also very injury prone, but then again so are 90% of our players.

If this is true, then Arsenal sort it out, Mr Walcott will grow in his brilliant ability and be a real force in the team. So sort it out and renew his contract.
