Wenger happy with the three points, update on transfers

Manager Arsène Wenger was happy with the three points after his young charges managed to break down a resolute and determined Bolton side.

Whilst the Frenchman was not that pleased with the performance, he says that it was important to keep pace with the top four in the Premiership table.

Wenger said: "For us it is important [to win]. We cannot afford to drop points against Bolton at home, we are swimming against the stream enough already.

"I feel we look stable defensively, we have been more creative in the past but we have now won three games 1-0 and that is a good basis.

"We have a good resilient spirit and let's just take it game by game. I have seen Villa today against West Brom and every game is difficult for everybody."

Wenger was also asked if a new signing would have helped break down Bolton sooner, as at times it looked as though the Gunners were lacking a creative edge to their game.

The manager responded: "It is difficult to say because of the context of the game today; it was very difficult to create.

"I have said it many times, if we have Theo Walcott, Tomas Rosicky and Francesc Fabregas out on the creative side of the game it is many players. Any injury on the offensive side, in creative midfield, can be a problem.

"We look for them [new faces] and as soon as we find them we will tell you."

i think arsene is a spendthrift....he just buys young player for high rate and they leave when they are mature.....eg.he paid so much for hleb and flamini and they left in their peak...
it will be the same case for 5 m pound Ramsey also..

fair play to you 'gooner irish' the only one with a decent perspective on things. I beginning to think its only children who write on this blog. Whinging and moaning about this player and that player and who we should buy. Wake up kids there's no money, paying a massive mortgage on the stadium and a credit crisis and an injury crisis. Thats six unbeaten, Get behind le boss, the team and stop whinging. He will get someone in.

I feel we just have to accept, its like the credit crunch our days of spending and jaw dropping football are over! We are living beyond our means with the new stadium and looks like the worst bit of business we have ever done. Nice view more tickets something to be proud of, but eats all the cash to buy a competitive team to challenge the Scum, Chelsea or even the purchase power of the Yids!!

Can everyone else see Ferguson assembling a squad thats going to dominate for a while again coz I can?
Oh and by the way he has not done it on the cheap!!
Make of that what you will.

It will be very difficult this season if we are not winning with many goals in the fact the difference will be very thin between the teams. more goals gooners if we get the opportunity.

Once again for the fear of spending a little money we will miss yet another good player!.There hasn't been a transfer update for years.Wake up Mr Wenger we show no creativity whatsoever.!!!It's becoming very frustrating being an Arsenal fan.We just don't have the players for the top 4.

good win as right they kept battling away and thats what counts. hopefully we will have a new arrival this week but i dont just think that arshavin will be enough we definetly need a defensive midfielder, someone that will do a job str8 away and i dont know who that is. I also feel more defensive cover is a must again i dont know, i think in august there was a link with metzelder of madrid wuoldnt be bad as he is very experienced.
