Dein: I was right about Arsenal needing money

Ex-Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein says that he was right about his former club needing more money to compete with the big boys.

Dein claimed that the new stadium would create a burden on the Gunners' ability to improve the squad but due to a lack of finances, manager Arsène Wenger is finding it difficult to recruit new players.

Dein said: ''When I left I said it was only because I could see what was on the horizon.

''I said it was in danger of slipping and I think that's what is happening at the moment and it has to be contained.

''This season is one of the most delicate in that they are fighting for their Champions League place.

''The first goal is to get that Champions League place. Five points behind Aston Villa is a mini-mountain to climb but there is talent there and there is resolve. They can do it.''

why do u all want arsene wenger to quit?

even the so called Sir Alex cannot win with the resources that arsenal has.

do u know that arsenal defeated chelsea with a squad that the entire salary and sign on fees could be paid by the chelsea midfield players salary and sign on fees respectively? the same goes foe man u wen we messed them up.

if he doesnt qualify for champions league, it is not a crime, considering the qualitries of players we have injured. but wait a minute: HE WILL FINISH WITHIN TOP THREE.

if we are six points adrift the top team by march ending, then i will concede. but certainly i wont concerde on champion league football until the last day,as long as we still av the chance mathematically.

do u know arsene's bugdet? do u know scolari's, alex's, benites' budget even oneil's buge t and expenses this season.

as dein rightly said, he is the future of arsenal. please tell me a coach in this world who would be ok and be where we are now with ths budfget. dont u see totehan?

u guys are just to funny. long run sustainance is better assured with arsene. try me. wenger will not be sacked, he knows, hill wood knows, arsenal board knows, and the entire fan know. without him, the board cannot sustain arsenal. do u think wenger doesnt want a trophy? with all thsi pressure? but he loves this club. he oncesaid he will never be happy if he wins the treble for several years consecutively, and leaves the club with a huge mountain of debt. that is luv, someone who will never sacrifise personal glory for the club future! who else in the world would?

let the mercinaries(gullible players)leave, arsene to me is still a legend and nobody after him will ever av that luv.

Wish I knew how to contact David Dien by email. We were fantastic when he was there. Miss him much.
