Wenger offers explanation for drop in form

Manager Arsène Wenger has offered an explanation for his team's recent drop in form and lack of attacking threat - the fixtures.

The Frenchman explained that previous opponents West Ham had an easier run-in towards their match at the Emirates whilst the Gunners played more difficult opposition.

Wenger said: "West Ham played on Saturday a very easy game and have had one game this week, [whereas] we have played three times in six days and you could see that had an influence in the game.

"We played against Wigan, we played against Portsmouth, we played against West Ham today, the positive thing is we didn't concede.

"They didn't attack, that explains why we always have the same problem."

If Wenger wants glory for arsenal, then he has to drop Adebayor for Arshavin.Ade is so wasteful.

wenger should re-examine the potentiality of eboue and diaby especially on their passing technics.

Wenger was very stupid for not signing any experience players before the season started, it took him 6 months to replace Hleb by capturing Arshavin. he talks about players whom are injured for long term is the reason why he doesn't need to buy bcoz one day they'll be back.
I think he lacks that drive unlike he's counterparts to win at any cost. He seriously needs to sit upstairs with the big boys, that way him being concerned more about the finance side of things would make sence. Fed up of seeing todlers being promised the world when it turns out most of the time just to be an average player.

it is not a new issue..coaches should be tacticians.if you drop 2 points and tell us that was because the other side was deffensive..it is like telling that they didnt allow us to score (that is exactly their duty).now if you loose and say that they were very offensive that is also their duty..your duty is to find a tactic for every case

There is no excuse. Our players are not focusing on playing the attacking football that we love. We need them to concentrate on what needs to be done. I don't care if it is 1-nil every game. But we must get a win/result every game. Drawing nil nil is not good enough, and I am hoping that this sentiment is being conveyed to the players every day. Their drive and focus must be to win every game, even the grind out games. It has to be done. Show us that Arsenal are a big Club.

Same broken record played over & over again. We've had difficult fixtures, the opponent didn't attack, we're not allowed to play our game and so on and so forth. This is far the worst season Arsenal has had in recent past. The only game they seem to have played like the Arsenal we all used to know, was the Man Utd game at the Emirates not even the 4 nil win at Ewood Park earlier in the season. In my own opinion, Eboue, Diaby & Bendtner in most cases impeded our fast attacking football. Till we have Walcott, Fabrigas, Rosicky back & complete the signing of Arshavin, we will continue to be less potent in our attack.

Wenger should stop blaming the fixtures and other teams for Arsenal's form and look in the mirror.

Recent drop in form???? What planet is this man on??? We havent been in form since the season started!!!!! We have been struggling to score, I can't remember the
last time AFC had a goal difference of +13 at this stage of the season, we really have regressed. The gaffer is now blaming difficult oppositon for us not beating west ham?? I thought we had already learnt the hard way that there is no easy opposition in the premiership anymore!! I am begining to worry seriously about Arsene's mental state; he just doesn't seem to see what millions of others can see. I will state one fact here: if west ham had shown a little bit more enterprise they could have scored at the emirates & if that goal was to be the 1st in the game then we would have had a banana skin to negotiate. AW needs to stop looking for excuses & silence all critics by getting the team to produce on the pitch wether the oppostion put 11 men behind the ball or not!!

i don think so man u plays many games too but always attacks. this is because they have depth in their squad. arsenal depend only on few individuals to score
