Midfielder Gilberto da Silva has said that he does not harbour any bad feelings towards former manager Arsène Wenger.
The Brazilian international was unceremoniously shipped out of the club after being ignored for the captaincy (which eventually went to William Gallas) but Gilberto accepts that Wenger had to do what was right for the club.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, he said: "I never fell out with Arsène, whatever people say. I had to respect his decision even if I disagreed with it.
"We had good conversations but, when it came to talking about whether he still saw me as part of the team, it wasn't the conversation I expected.
"Maybe, I thought, it was time to leave Arsenal. I understood what the manager's idea was; he had so many good young players and, if I was in the team, they wouldn't have the chance to develop."

What a true professional Gilberto is. He's out of Arsenal but yet remain loyal & humble. Many ex-players would have use the opportunity of their exit to bare their minds on the perceived injustice meted to him regards the Captaincy issue. Big up Gilberto, you will forever be our good book.
