Manager Arsène Wenger has said that new signing Andrey Arshavin will play against Sunderland this weekend.
The Russian international has yet to make his debut but it seems that his first appearance for the club will be against the Black Cats, where Arsenal will be hoping to pick up much needed three points.
Wenger said: "Arshavin will be involved, but I have not decided what I will do with him yet.
"He is still working on preparation and he is not qualified for the game against Roma so we can give him another week of hard work.
"At the end of next week, that will be three weeks with us and one week with Zenit, that should be enough."

WATCHING THE 4-0 WIN AGAINST CARDIFF CITY IN THE EMIRATE STADIUM I THINK IT IS A WAKE UP CALL FOR FURTHER VICTORY. I THINK THE LIKES OF EDUADO DA SILVA, THEO WALCORT, THOMAS ROSISKY, AND THE YOUNG CAPTAIN CAES FABREGAS HAS REALY AFFECTED THE CLUB. SO AS A DIE HEARTED ARSENAL FANS I CHEER TODAYS MARCH TO VICTORY AND MORE GRACE TO YOUR ELBOWS.
