Wenger praise for Arshavin

Manager Arsène Wenger has praised new signing Andrey Arshavin after the Russian international made his debut against Sunderland yesterday.

Wenger said: "He has shown in glimpses that he has talent and that he will be a player.

"He has also shown that he is not ready physically yet.

"You could see that if he was on the ball more often he will effect the game, in the final third you feel that something can happen.

"He nearly scored two goals; one right-footed shot and one with his left well saved by the keeper."

My BIG Question is:Why on earth didn't Vela start???? He has to be one of the most attack minded players at Arsenal and he finds himself coming in as a sub and what's worse is that Eboue is picked ahead of Vela....How this is,,,,i simply don't know....They is no logic why Vela can have such an outstandng game in the FA Cup, then is a sub @ sunderland....And to Eric85-----Arshavin is not being alienated by other players....he is just that better than them and being so attack minded that he seems out of place....For example: When Bendtner passed the ball to Arshavin down the right flank, Arshavin quickly passed the ball back to Bendtner who waz tracking back into the box....the pass caught Bendtner by suprise and thus:we lost the ball....Could have that been Vela we would be talkin about how we thrashed sunderland....N what on EARTH is Ebuoe doing in this team....we sell Gilberto, Flamini, Hleb and refuse to buy Baptista and who do we keep????Eboue, Diaby, Song....N the sad reality is that the later mentioned are in the starting line up more often than they should....With Diaby and Song, they r good but not good enough....Denilson is solid but all this players should be coming in as subs not starting...! We all know Arsene is reluctant to spend so all this ranting seems pointless. Doesn't it...?

i hope he fits in fast and help arsenal win some trophies which will indirectly help and make other players to stay a gunner for the next season.

m8 ur totally correct but for the wrong reasons, denilson is not an attacking midfielder he is an industrious mdfielder sort in the mold of gilberto, but he does more running. he is ther to break up the play and then play it simple... our problem is that because of our injries we hav to play him with Song hi job is basiclly to sit infront of the defence nd clean up any mess. So wit the two of them no wonder we arent conceding, its jus that now we dont hv any cuttin edge in the centre mid , i wuld take out song nd put in fabs he s injured tho nd so we hav to rely on our wide players to do the creativity bit nd thats not arsenal is it we just dont hav the capability of goin wide nd puttin it in the box nd wen we do whos ther bendtner or adebayor to squander the chance, to be honest i blame our season on injuries ... i kno it sounds abit u kno chidish or at not but really with rosicky eduardo walcott nd fabregras add that to van persie nd arshavin nd even nasri(when he is on it) we are lookin quality without this means Song nd eboue ... enough said

arshavin is a very good player but sumhow, other players were just like alienating him.. he didnt get the ball more often.. other players didnt pass him a ball...
he is an attacking minded but sumhow other players dont understand him..

i feel the reason we have not been able to penetrate other teams is largely because of our central mid don't get me wrong Denilson has established himself well but playing him as the main central attacking mid just doesn't cut it for me he plays better when there is another central mid with more creative edge and sometimes his passing is not spot on and at this point of the season we need precision in the midfield

I think that maybe he should have come on as a sub after the game was in hand...now we drop 2 critical points...now is not the time of the year to be tinkering.
