Wenger: Denilson will be key against Roma

Midfielder Denilson will have an important role to play when Arsenal take on Italian side AS Roma in the Champions League, according to manager Arsène Wenger.

Speaking at his pre-match news conference, Wenger said: "They [Roma] play with a congested midfield and with a lot of short passing on the ground. If you lose that battle, you will be second best.

"Denilson will have an important part to play in the Roma game. I am surprised how little credit he has got for what he has delivered since the start of the season.

"He does not talk too much, but he is very efficient. If you look at the numbers and the amount of balls he wins, he is one of the top midfield players in the country on many indexes."

Let Nasri play on centre with Denilson play wide. We would be more lethal that way.

Is he really that good? Or are we blind?

I hate it when they show a different version of the same game in SA! :) On our TV's (as opposed to what Mr Wenger is saying)Denilson has been poor. His passes are very often inaccurate and he falls down so often (for no good reason) that I fear he is addicted to the smell of grass. Well I hope that tonight we see Arsene Wenger's Denilson - what a wonderful change that would be.

i seriously think arsene is loosing the plot...if he fails miserably in this champs league, they the directors ought to reconsider a new breath of fresh air into arsenal...
