Defender Mikael Silvestre has said that him and his team mates can mount a challenge for the Premiership title next season.
The former Manchester United player joined Arsenal in the close season but has yet to make an impact this season.
However, Silvestre feels that significant improvements have been made in the quality of the squad.
Silvestre said: "We've got to believe that we can challenge next season.
"If we build on this season, which is not finished yet, there is a lot of reason to think that we must challenge from day one for the title.
"You have to make a quick start, of course, because all the best teams take points.
"As soon as you drop two or three points, the gap is really big."

Tom: I agree with you as we have been hearing the same thing for the past 4 seasons!! 4 seasons?!!! Cor blimey... Is tis how long it's been? These players should just shut up and get on with it.
I remember the year Phil Neville then at ManU said after they had had an excellent season, how they could go the whole season winning every match.. What happenned that year? They ended up in 3rd or 4th place. The old saying is true always and that is, 'never count your chicks before they are hatched'. Take note therefore mosiuer Sylvestre!!

what?! this guy better keep quiet. he hasn't been played that often to be listened by fans. like it wasn't bad enough that utd are having a laugh by selling him to us. He may do well for us in future but I really doubt it.
