Former Arsenal winger Robért Píres has advised Gunners captain Francesc Fabregas to remain at the club.
Despite strong denials from the young Catalan, there is strong speculation that Fabregas will eventually leave North London and return to play for his boyhood club Barcelona.
But Píres says that now is not the time for Cesc to do so, and instead stay in London to improve his game.
Speaking to Setanta Sports, Píres said: "I do not have any advice to give Cesc, but the ideal situation for him would be to carry on with Arsenal in order to keep on improving.
"The main reason for him to stay is that he knows he is going to be played week in, week out.
"I am not saying that he would not play if he was a Real Madrid or a Barcelona player, but it is more difficult to be part of their starting line-up.
"When you come back home, to your country, people have huge expectations. They demand a lot from you and you are put under a lot of pressure.
"At the present time, he is in a good environment and he works under a great manager who totally relies on him.
"To my mind, he should stay one year more at Arsenal."

i dont like this perception of arsenal...
youngster's go there to improve there game...but then run of to the big clubs as soon as they come calling...
arsenal should not allow this...were are a big club 2

I believe that he should play out his contract. He is under contract until 2014. It's unrealistic to believe he is going to stay the whole time, but two more years and it will be done here. If we can win the Prem and Champs league, he will stay longer.
