Goalkeeper Manuel Almunia and defender William Gallas were both replaced due to injury in the Champions League tie against Villareal last night, and manager Arsène Wenger has said that the signs are not looking good.
Gallas looked like he damaged medial knee ligaments in the Gunners' 1-1 draw at Villarreal.
The Frenchman limped off after colliding with Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi late in the first half.
Wenger said: "It looks quite serious and could be medial knee ligament injury.
"On Gallas it looks quite serious, we will have to asses it and I am not a doctor, but the first signs do not look too good."
Goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is also likely to miss the return leg next week after he came off with an ankle injury.
Wenger did not know exactly how long the injury will keep his first-choice goalkeeper out for but estimated that the Spaniard would miss a fortnight.
Wenger added: "Manuel is a recurrence of an ankle injury, which probably will be a couple of weeks."

Is Almunias ankle the same one that Diouf tried to snap? Its about time that guy got a baseball bat round the back of the head down some dark alley.
