Captain Francesc Fabregas has denied that his future at the Emirates Stadium is linked to manager Arsène Wenger's own future at the club.
Wenger has so far refused to comment on extending his current deal, but Fabregas says that his own desire to stay at Arsenal is his own decision.
Fabregas said: "I hope that my future will be at Arsenal, but it does not depend on Arsène Wenger's future at all.
"Of course we are talking about a very important person to me.
"I respect him a lot, but in football you try to achieve things as an individual.
"I hope that I will play football for another 10 or 12 years. I have no idea where that will be."

This is what i want to hear from Cesc. Whether or not his future lies in Emirate Stadium is immaterial, the most important thing is if he's going to stay, let it be for the love of the club & not Arsene Wenger. We have to understand that no matter how important Wenger is to Arsenal football club, he's not going to be around forever. So, players should be proud to wear the red & white of Arsenal fc irrespective of whoever is the manager.
