Walcott hails current team form

Striker Theo Walcott has hailed the form that has seen his side through to the Champions League semi-final.

Walcott opened the scoring in the quarter-final against Villarreal, helping his side to eventually win 3-0, 4-1 on aggregate.

Walcott said: "The lads were brilliant against Villarreal. We dug in at their place and this was an absolutely fantastic result for us.

"Last year we had our bad spell at the end but this year hopefully we've had that and hopefully we can have a brilliant end to the season.

"We like to stay in the background, keep nice and quiet and just come round the back. We're getting players back fit and we're performing at the right time.

"We're playing brilliant football and we're scoring goals from all sorts of positions, which helps the team. Obviously we're defending well too.

"We have players out but the players coming in are doing just as good a job. We're flying at the moment.

"Everyone is buzzing and that's the feeling we want to get on the pitch.

"As soon as we walk on the pitch we want teams to be scared of us. That's what we're getting at the moment.

"We've got a great chance [of going through to the Final] and the result tonight showed that. Hopefully other clubs will be scared of us.

"It will be very difficult against Man United. We play them in the Premier League quite regularly and we do well against them but they are probably the best team in the world.

"We will find it tough but if we dig in and play like we did tonight I'm sure we will be fine."

The team is high on confidence right now but I hope Wenger can rein in their excitement and keep them focused until the final whistle of the final game
