Manager Arsène Wenger has said that England's national footballing stadium - Wembley - will not be regarded as a world class stadium so long as it does not have a decent enough pitch to play on.
The Frenchman was not alone in his vocal criticism of the state of the pitch which his side played their FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea on.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Everton manager David Moyes also shared the same view as their Arsenal counterpart.
The English Footballing Association have admitted that they will be relaying the pitch - the fifth time since the stadium re-opened after its £800 million reconstruction - later this year.
The pitch at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium on the other hand has always been regarded to have a world class pitch.
Wenger said: "You will never see a good football match on a bad pitch. It is like that.
"I just would think they should have to reconsider the whole structure of the pitch.
"At the moment they can relay it every three months and they will always have a bad pitch.
"It is not good enough for the Champions League Final, for the Olympic games, not for the Semi-Final of an FA Cup.
"Why? Because the first priority is that the pitch is good when you build a new stadium.
"If that is not right, the whole stadium is bad no matter how much money you spend."
