Wenger: Arshavin is a great player

Manager Arsène Wenger has hailed playmaker Andrey Arshavin after the Russian international scored four goals against Liverpool last night.
Arshavin, who signed for the North London club in January, has taken the Premiership by storm after having now scored seven goals in seven games.
However. the Gunners were let down by their defence as they conceded four goals and could have even lost the game in extra time had Liverpool been more prolific.
Wenger said: "Arshavin can play everywhere, like all great players.
"He scored four goals but it was at the end of good combination play.
"He has tricks and a short back-lift and that makes him very dangerous.
"It shows he has a good left foot, but in full confidence he can be relaxed enough to take the goal anyway.
"I have been in this job a long time and not many players get four goals in a top game like that.
"I didn't expect him to do that - he has scored seven in seven games."

arshavin is definately top quality.but he does need to work harder because he will be a target of opposing teams.

Wenger is such a confused fella. So it's now he reckon that Arshavin is a great player. Why was he benched in the FA Cup semi final against Chelsea knowing fully well that he's not gonna play in the Champions league?

I am still perplexed as to why Arshavin did not play against Chelsea. we could have used his creativeness and combativness. Oh well, water under the bridge . . .

Lots of talk about short backlifts these days - i've heard it mentioned about Arsh, Torres, Eduardo & Messi.. Can anyone tell us more about this characteristic and how it influences game play?
Arshavin was magical yesterday, and next season should be cracking. Don't we look like shoe-in's for next year's title? Love it!
