After the Champions League semi-final defeat to Manchester United, manager Arsène Wenger has said that it is possible that he would add to his squad in the summer.
The Frenchman did not say that he would be doing so for certain, as he needed to take a step back and assess the squad but said that his young Gunners are still growing and can only improve.
Wenger said: "It's a difficult question to answer tonight because I am too disappointed.
"I need to take some distance with this season.
"We are on a consistent run of 21 games unbeaten but recently in the games that have mattered, like Chelsea and tonight, we couldn't win. That of course needs thinking.
"It's easy to say that we needa bit of experience but I am convinced that we have the quality and we'll continue to develop.
"If you look at the average age of the team it is still very young."

Arsene Wenger from my point of view I do really think that arsenal is the best squad in the premiership we really have great players. The reason why we always lose is because are players are always getting injured thats the main reason. The beggining of da season we beat man u and chelsea 2-1 with are main squad, and now that we have Arshavin Eduardo rosisky in the squad there is no chance of us losing next season because we do have experienced players its not about th age its about quality and talent and the teams passion of football enjoying themselves in matches either win or lose the fans will be upset but greatful and will cheer on the players and you on the effort and commitment the team put in the game that is true fans.

We need to strengthen the core of our side with experience. Get quality at center back, to rotate with Kolo and Gallas, in the middle next to Cesc (Yaya), and upfront to rotate with Edu. I think Ade can be sold now just to allow for some proven quality to come in.

I am still in shock from that crushing defeat to manchester united and like everyone else has said there are so many areas to be addressed. For example Flamini, i was gutted when he left for AC Milan and he hasn't exactly been great there either if we still had him defending the back line and giving Cesc no reason to not attack and orchestrate midfield i think we would be in a much different situation. I don't think he should of been able to leave personally i think Wenger could of done more effort to keeping him at Arsenal, we need a strong defensive midfielder i have a lot of faith in Alex Song but he lacks experience like most of our squad if we brought Gareth Barry or Xavi Alonso even our team would be so much stronger. In other areas like our attacking i dont think we need another attacking player as Arshavin has been incredible, just a shame he couldn't play on tuesday......and don't not get me started on his bench warming in the FA cup semi final.....anyway on to our defense. I dont feel we need any more full backs Gael, Bacary and Gibbs are more than good enough but what im more worried about are our centerbacks. Kolo Toure, what a player have the up most respect for him and personally think he is one of the best defenders around but he needs to be paired with some one taller, no nonsense, shot stopper. Gallas is good but as many people no they not exactly the best of mates. I think if we had someone like Lescott, Hangeland, even Steven taylor maybe? We would be more efficient to say the least, just one towering centerback who scares the likes of Ronaldo and Drogba. Hopefully we will see some strong experienced players fly into arsenal this summer not some 2 month old from auxerre and a 6 year old from kenya.
We love you arsenal we do!

we need to get players of commanding presence at arsenal ,we have plenty of quality flair players at the moment ,cesc as captain?i think hes too young to have earned (respect)someone to look to for guidance in a match.hopfully we can get a player to assist him in mid.essien,lampard,yaya,gerrard,barry,viera,edu.surely arsene youve got a plan.

The Arival of Arshavin has saved our season, without him we would have struggled even for 5th spot. Arshavin offers Vision, leathal instinct, spontanity and the drive to make a difference with a dribble or an intelligent pass, who else does this? Fabregas does not offer all this.
Some say sell Bendtner, no way.
Sell Adebayor, buy a quality target man/striker and keep Nick as back-up and super-sub.
sell Diaby, he does not have the mental sharpness required. Song is an ok back up, so is Denilson, but we real need aquality def.mid, Senna?
Keep the defenders, but please let Sagna focus on practising cross passes this summer.
At the moment we are far to predictable, playing always a safe pass, and performing very little cleaver movement in the last 3rd. Ade and RVP have a lot to prove, it seems they have lost the passion, either for football or for Arsenal FC.

Adebayor needs to go, we can get 30-35 million for him and add another 25 million and we will have 60m to spend on:
A big strong Centre Back: Hegeland
A big strong Enforcer in Midfield: Velusio, Ya Ya,
and
A quality striker who will score goals.... I would love Eto'o.....

Have faith gooners, yes it was hugely disappointing, I have been a Bear with a sore head for the last 23 hours (when Gibbs slipped). Who could possibly replace Wenger, the guy is a football genius he could walk into any club or intl team as manager tomorrow. He has kept the club highly competitive through a period of immense transition (stadium build & move) when funds were very limited. He kept to his ideals with youth and technically brilliant football. His employers the board could not have wished for anything more, he has delivered excellence with the most limited resources, as a result what will be available to him over the next few years will be a fantastic bunch of players, technically gifted and more experienced for their past efforts.
He will be able to add to the squad pretty much any world class player he desires.
I personally THANK Arsene, encourage him to stick to his policy and am well looking forward to the next ERA, gooner be awesome. keep the faith true Gooners

Last night was the final bit of credit Wenger had left with me used up from now on I am going to judge him on teams current form. When he took over we had a great defense 2 good strikers and not much else.
He added great attacking flair and a midfield to die for . But year in year out the defense has gotten worse and worse. When are we going to buy a defender who can win a ball in the air. Gibbs slip is getting the blame for the first goal. Nobody seems to mention that Ronaldo was able to win a header easily which started the move for the goal. How many of the current arsenal defenders would even challenge to get into the back four of Dixon, Winterburn, Adams & Keown. None thats how many I do think this has a lot to do with Wenger. Right backs and left backs concentrate more on going forward than defending. Do they even practice defending in training. Even when we get a good defender Sagna for example was voted best right back in the premiership last season as time is spent at arsenal his defending gets worse. Id love to see Arsene Wenger turn this around at Arsenal but I just cant see it happening.

Apart from Robin VP (and he's a little sluggish) we have no real goal threat up front. Ade is too wasteful and certainly not threatening enough. You never actually believe Ade will score like you do with top level strikers (Torres, Villa etc).
Midfield is in need of serious muscle who can simply tackle and pass simply. We have creative players in the form of Cesc, Nasri, Asharvin who can do the killer ball (Yaya Toure type player required but understand he would not want to leave Barca).
Defensively, two new centre backs urgently required. We never (ever) look secure against top opposition.
SELL: ADE, BENDTNER, EBOUE, WALCOTT (YES WALCOTT, HE CANNOT KEEP THE BALL TO SAVE HIS LIFE)
A dissapointed gooner from Argentina

I also think that we have to spend big to buy one player per line. I mean, what have we been saving money for a lot of years with this Youth POlicy for? We have to get consolidated players like Terry on defence, someone like Xavi to play alogside Fabregas and a striker like Torres, Villa or Eto'o. Get rid of Bendtner, Diaby and Gallas. I've been an Arsenal fan since 2002, and what made me became a gooner is the way I saw Henry, Pires, Viera and the others played. Well, guess what? I don't see that anymore, it seems to be gone. I'm not gonna become a fan of a different team, but I hate seeing players who doesn't put everything into the game, and I hate seeing Wenger making mistakes like speculating against Man U, giving away the first leg thinking that we'll do well on the second match. You can never do that against teams like this, it's nonsense, as it is saying before the second game that we will probably win when we it was extremely obvious that they had much more quality than us.
I hope we bring some players, hope that ROsicky finally comes back, hope that everyone staying gives their best and hope that, at last, we win either the CL or the PL next season.

With Arshavin in the squad, we can do better next season. But 1st we need to strengthen our midfield. We need an anchorman to do the dirty job. Remember what Flamini did for Arsenal last time? Someone like Mascherano, Essien or maybe have to bring back Mr. Flamini!

i agreed with most fans on what we needed but felt by pushing wenger i was rocking the boat and to do that at arsenal is not aloud.
everyone with responsability at the club should grow a pair and say what we need . ie get rid of 3-4 players i wont name but we all agree who it would be , bedntner adebayor eboue and gallas and replace with world class players.

We need strong midfilders and strikers. Why is it that we play entertaining footbal and no goals? Why is it that our players are not shooting? We need to get players who move the ball forward and shoot at any given opportunity. Passing game is okay with me but we need to finish it off by shooting at the goal not passing the ball even when inside the penalty area. Wenger, please listen to us. We like you and would like you to come up with a new style of playing, especially when near the goal mouth. Enough said.

disappointed, absolutely frustrated. and i fear that these big players can move out of london becoz of the result last night. u kno they themselves are responsible but its been so many years since we won the trophy and the team do not look like they will win trophy next season as well. but i have believe and if wenger buys some really star players just like he did at the winter buying arshavin then we can think of winnin trophy but otherwise with these young squad we cannot compete against the big team who hae much more physical and mental ability

everybody is angry. Rightly so.
Spare a thought...tony adams, keown, seaman, o 'leary, parlor, henry ...and other great gooners have spent years at the club before they became legends.
look at man u ....scholes, giggs, neville and more recently van der saar, ronaldo, rooney...everybody has spent a lotta time at old trafford
the point is this
every graet team goes through a dry patch before re-building...we need players who are gooners at heart, love to play football the arsenal way and respect the fans and their sentiments
we need players who want to make emirates their home
it'll take a year...maybe two
but we will bounce back
i'll tell you that

I know every arsenal fan is disappointed at the moment but to call for the sacking of Wenger is just unthinkable. He is probably the best player we have and he needs to be given all the time in the world. He is a winner and his record proves it. Yes it has not worked out so far but we are on the right track. We seriously and urgently need to sort out our defence with a couple of tall, physically and mentally equiped defenders, a solid midfielder and players who really want to play for the club.I hope it has finally hit home with Wenger on last night performance that as talented and gifted most of these youn players may be,when it really counts, they don't have either the mental or physical strength to win you a silverware.Something has to give but i just hope Prof Wenger stays for as long as possible to accomplish his vision. Happy times will return again with Wenger at the helm, but the question is how long do we have to wait with these Kids??

I think that Wenger needs to sign a prolific goal scorer. David Villa and Samuel Eto'o come to mind. Definately a centre back, as well as someone to bolster our midfield. Like the role Makelele played at Chelsea. Micah Richards would be a brilliant signing. Also i think Wenger should reconsider his youth policy. I know the youth are the future of the club but they should not be as involved as they at Arsenal. Just put them out on loan until they are ready to come into the side!

Disappointed Arsenalists, thanks for your constructive comments. All of us Arsenalists are very disappointed! In brief let mr Wenger sell off those non starters or send them on loan so that they can improve and buy players of Arshavin type. In the stricking line Ade, Bent should go! midfield Dy should go! Defence we only want to remain with Clichy, Sagna and Jor. The rest should go! If mr Wenger does not take drastic measures Arsenal a clud with a lot of fans World wide will be in trouble in a few years to come.

Would definately want to stick with Wenger as manager, but he does need to spend. I would say we have enough strikers, even if Ade goes, as its the natural position for Theo and Andrey, along with VP and Eddie, and Vela and Bentner for support.
We need Alonso, and I would like to see us swoop and pay some money to trey and Nick Laescott off the toffees.

Mr. Wenger should aknowledge by now that experiment time is over. Look at what Arshavin has already brought to the team with his experience. The young gunners will grow but they do need guidiance on the pitch from more mature players. Arsene, buy players that will encourage these boys before they lose confidence like it happened tp poor Kieran last nite.

first of all i want to say, i really dont like the way arsenal play nowadays compare to henry, pires, viera era's. Nowadays arsenal past a lot to side rather then move forwards.
second, please sell adebayor, bendtner n gallas. Buy a world class striker who know's how to finished and run intelligently from opposite defend example torres. Buy a good centre defend who can partner with toure. Bring back traore and loan gibs. Gibs need some times progress, he's a very confident player.
I dont no whether it's true or not but may be next season nasri will play as a defensive midfielder with fabregas. Try to buy good defensive midfielder because our substitude looks very poor compare to mu.
If next season arsenal didnt win any trophy, then as a arsenal supporter i hope fabregas move to barcelona because he deserve to win something. He's still young, he deserve to achieve more. I really like him, he's a one of the brilliant youngster along side messi.
Not the player let down arsenal supporters, it's wenger let down us. He's the one master of arsenal success and he's the one of arsenal failure. I still believe he can turn around arsenal into succefull club.
This season is a good lesson for arsene wenger.

What can I say....am thoroughly disappointed, we were run off the pitch by the better side and all the issues about playing a young side came home to roost well good and proper last night.
What makes me angrier is the usual claptrap spouted out by Le Prof afterwards...FFS give us a team that can fight and make a decent scrap of it and yes before the apologists start ranting at me I've been a gooner for over 40 years now & have loved every match we've played and you know why...because we always showed bottle along with a mentality to have a go unlike our prissy dancing queens last night!
Where are the players that love to pull on the famous red/white strip gone? Additionally as much as I admire Le Prof for his style I have to question his tactics especially seeing that we've won zero in the last 4 years whilst waiting for his experiment to come to fruition, so what we're expected to wait another 4 years plereeeese!
It'd be very easy to say get rid of Le Prof but I can't think of a manager that could replace him & work on a shoestring but we have to think long and hard as to how we want our club managed. Do we look across the channel for a great coach/tactician or do we look here and if here who the hell do we look to, I can't think of anyone can any of you? All of these questions needs answering & the sooner the better.
In the short term I'd like to see Le Prof change his tactics, get his chequebook out buy 3/4 experienced & by experienced I mean mature players that can help our 'babes' out because do they need guidance or what & remember Fergie did exactly that when he was questioned!

Ive always said lets stick with teh idea of the kids as they will come good, but they did before with Vieira and Henry because they became world class beaters in their onw right, Wallcot and Ade ahve not at least not yet. We shouldnt spend 70mil for the sake of it, but look what Ashavin has done, we need a centre back and striker of that quality and then we're great!

Its a very sad day for all Arsenal fans, the biggest problem is not only buying players but Wenger has to learn how to play against teams.I mean we must not always dwell on passing all the time i.e on playing our own game we have to learn how to change style and play against teams. For example look at what ManU did to Barca last year and Chelsea last week, nothing stops Wenger from acknowledging the fact that ManU are a better team and deploy negative tatics against them.Even ManU played 3 defensive midfilders against us,why can't Ronaldo be given special attention or frustrating Rooney even moving Walcott to left to capitalise on Oshea's lack of speed. The most important thing is winning nobody will ask how it is achievied 5 years from now.If we do not change our style at times we might not win an European cup.

Well, Arsenal will not win anything unless the manager changes his transfer policy. Imagine Evra refering to the game as between men and children! Ideally, who is Evra? A nobody. How much should he cost? Yes, development is very important, but there must be a proper blend. The team needs at least four experienced signings. While some teams can boost of three players for every position, arsenal gets into trouble anytime there is one injuiry. Imagine the defence. Its make shift, just because Gallas and Clichy are unavailable. For as long as no new players are signed, nothing will be won. Other teams have long gone beyond where arsenal is today. How can they compete with teams like chelsea that does no player development, man u or liverpool who are constantly upgrading their team. The only thing will be to be competing for fourth place just like Anelka said. Wenger must upgrade his team to win anything.

Where do i start!!! Arsene has asked us to be patient and give time for the youngsters to develop, well it has been 4 years and not one trophy!!!! It must stop here!!! We lack pace, precision, power, cut and thrust, and clinical finishing!
Its time Kronke Takes us over and forces Wengers hand in the market. Adybayor for £30 million!!! a great deal take it. We always fall short when we play the big teams and it will continue if Wenger doesnt mix youth with world class experience. We need Yaya Toure, Micah Richards, David Villa and Santa Cruz or possibly Etoo on the cheap as he only has 1 year left!! and Sergio Ramos would be a bonus to that list!!!But that is what it takes for us to get to the top!!!
But it probrably won't happen and we will add with 2 19 year olds and a 21 year old!!!I will always keep the faith however as in Arsene we trust!!!!! ( at about 90% ) ;)

The guy who said that we have a team of passers is right Only Nasri came out to play and win. RVP, Nasri, Arshavin, Edu, Vela are probably our most visionary and potent players and they are strikers. BUT the rest of the team need to take responsibility.
That is the biggest problem with youth, they simply play not to lose when they should be playing to win. ATTITUDE

surely one of the biggest problems was that over 2 legs we only managed 3 shots on target. The team needs to be ruthless. And i got to say I know it is easy to single players out but in the fa cup semi final against chelsea and the two legs vs man utd Adebayor managed to have Zero shots on target. This is not the sign of a great striker. Sell him to Milan now. 2 tall and mobile center backs are needed and a striker who can lead the forward line and shoot better than adebyebye.
Too young for the center stage

As a arsenal supporter i have to say we choked! we choke in all our big games.. Man U will always win us as their strikers come fetch the ball in the middle, where as ours just wait and wonder till they recieve it, reference to the 1st half. As for the second half we tried but our players was in all the wrong places.. Ade running more on the wing, and trying to get passes in.. Not his role...
Then another is when we clear the ball they dont look/know where there fellow team mates are.. we cleared the ball right back into Man U's feet.
I can go on and on, but i am not the manager and cant make changes.
But i do think we need bigger players to, let the youngster prove themselves in the reserves..
Oh and big up to walcott for taking on rooney in the one tackle..
I sincerely hope things turn around for the better, because if we cant win Chelsea, Man U and even Liverpool.. there is no way we can win any TITLE > TROPHY !!

For starters another high quality goalkeeper is needed. Get some defenders at least 190cm and above. Make sure they are mobile and not like Cygan and senderos to name afew.
Let the players bought not be be playing out of position.Wiltford comes into mind.He was frusutrated playing on the wing and as central striker next minute.
Stop the passing syndrome. Five passes and the next pass be on target and stop trying to dribble thru ten players in the box.
if Barca with wc players cant get thru the Chelsea defence what hope is there for Arsenal.
Play to win and not fanciful soccer.
Just like Waterloo

In the Battle of the Emirates (Tuesday 05 May 2009 near London, forces of the French Empire under Wenger Bonaparte were defeated by those of the Red Devils, including a Portugese man under the command of Sir Alex Ferguson. It was the decisive battle of the Campaign and Wenger's last.

I can already see the papers come July - 'Arsenal signs two 16's and a 17 year old.' Well technically he is adding to the squad...

We need defenders that can defend. Rio and Vidic showed how its done, Djourou and Toure are pathetic.
Disappointed Arsenalist.....

Quality we have in abundance but Wenger seems to have surrounded himself with passers...No visionaries, no fighters, no deadly strikers, and no dribblers.....
Totally disappointed with the match yesterday. No vision, no width, no passion and most certainly no prolific & intelligent goal scorer.
That is the problem with this team, no one shoots..no one picks their pass.....This is the beginning of the end....

We are on a consistent run of 21 games unbeaten but recently in the games that have mattered, like Chelsea and tonight, we couldn't win. That of course needs thinking.
