Defender Kolo Touré has praised opponents and arch-rivals Manchester United after the Gunners were knocked out of the Champions League semi-final, losing 4-1 on aggregate.

Arsenal lost the first leg 1-0 at Old Trafford and then succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium, but Touré concedes that luck was also not on his side.

Touré said: "We were unlucky that we played against one of the best teams in Europe.

"Manchester United were fantastic. They were lucky too, their first goal was a mistake from us and the second goal as well. From then it was always going to be difficult to come back against an experienced team like that.

"I think they [Man United] are the best at the moment.

"They have really experienced players, they are really strong physically, they are tactically fanstastic. I think they are good defensively as well.

"But when you see the first five minutes of the game you could see it was not so far between the teams.

"We put pressure on them and we could have scored with Cesc's deflected shot. That can make the difference – whether you have luck or not.

"We have been together for a long time but we have not won trophies yet. When you win trophies it becomes like a habit for you.

"At this time we did not win anything and at the moment we do not know what is happening.

"But I think when we get the first trophy you will see more from Arsenal."

ofcourse man utd playd well bcz we give them chance to play.look their defenders n ours totally different.dd u see ade win a ball?but u see c.ronaldo do what ever he ont onlyhim but also roney.our cd is vry poor in man markng n 1st balls.we give comfortable space for strikers.torres n c.ronaldo not so dangerous but we alwys score to us bcz we giv them open chance

If Wenger refuses to buy a new CB or defensive midfielder we should consider putting as the defensive midfield. At least we will have some steel and power in that position.
