Manager Arsène Wenger admits that him and his team wanted to celebrate winning the Premiership in place of Manchester United today.
However, watching their arch-rivals lift the trophy is enough inspiration for his team to aspire to win the Premiership next season.
The Frenchman also offered his congratulations to United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who has managed to now win a treble of Premiership trophies twice in a row.
Wenger said: "The hope is there that we can [win the Premiership]. The quality is there as well and you saw that today.
"Deep down you want to be out there celebrating. They were the better team this year and congratulations to them.
"Let us make sure it in on our side next year. In sport things can change quickly and what we have shown today is that we have the quality to be up there.
"We have to keep the belief and work very hard. My team have learned a lot and we were not far. Since November we have lost just one game.
"We were close in the Champions League and the FA Cup, and were remarkably consistent.
"It is an exceptional achievement and congratulations to Sir Alex Ferguson. It is fantastic what his team have done this year. The overall achievement is remarkable."

Wenger is excusing himself again. When did he ever win the premierleage with young players?Never. He has to add some more experienced players like Arshavin to win any trophy next season.

here he goes again exalting failure. Clearly no passion to win any silverware from wenger here. I think this man has now become senile and must make his way to a smaller less ambitious club. I love benitez for his thirst for success and trophies. It will pay off

Arsene Wenger should not rely on young players, because someime they cost a team in big matches. We now need experienced and competitive players who will be masterminders to the young ones. I love Arsenal 'sana' (so much)

The only way to realy measure success is by winning a cup competitions or doing better in the EPL than you did the season before. On this count this has not been an successful season. Winning the CL or FA cup is a great achievement but it does not make you the best team in Europe or England. Winning the EPL makes you the best team in England.
ManU have shown us that you can lose 4-6 games per season and still win the EPL. The anwser is beating teams outside the top 4. This is where Arsenal needs to be more consistent.
Wenger is right there is a lot of quality at Arsenal from Ade to Almuni. Arsenal have a lot of trainee without consultants (no Campbell, Vieira, Henry, etc)and therefore having to learn on the job on their own as they go along.
I belive this team will come good but we will have to give it time.

Dream on, Mr Wenger, and go on with your stubborn approach. Rest Arshavin during another FA cup semi- final, do not replace the departing stars and look for a 13 year old star in Zimbabwe who will fill the void in the depleted defence. Oh yes, there is another midfield star in Botswana, but he is 12 years old. He is the perfect Flamini replacement. His brother is said to be only 11 but is seen as the perfect Henri replacement.

Arsene has gone up in my estimation. I have to admit though he'd be a fair match for Sir Alex if he had our budget at his disposal year on year. Sir Alex number 1 for trophy domination Arsene No 1 for working within the finances. Fair play all round!!!

Talk is cheap..he said we're not far different from mancunt..well three EPL cups in a row is make a huge different to the fans, whatever we say this man would never admit that his current squad is a failure and could never compete with 3 arch rivals..we'll be fucked on and on as long this blind man wouldnt start to look around and keep his so called national mediocre players such diaby, denilson and adebayor on reverse team and buy more reliable player this summer.
What a sad man..
