Toure: We have to learn for next season

Defender Kolo Touré has admitted that him and his team mates will have to learn from their mistakes this season and strive to do better for the next.

There is a general consensus that the Gunners have underachieved this season and by some margin, finishing fourth whereas they were contesting for the Premiership title last season.

After being knocked out 4-1 (on aggregate) by Manchester United in the Champions League, Touré admits that there is still much to do before him and his team mates start challenging for honours next season.

Touré said: "We have definitely proved something to ourselves. We defended much better than we did in the Champions League. We showed character and played very well as a team.

"We know that we have to defend very well in the big games and we need to be well-organised. That is what we did against Manchester United in the last game and it is a good sign for next season.

"In the Champions League we didn't play very well, but when we are well organised as a team it is difficult to beat us.

"When we started the season no-one expected us to be in this position. We could have done better because we didn't start the season very well. We lost a few points and we need to learn from this. The gap is not that big."

i agree with megwill consistency is very much needed for arsenal to win the premier league again forinstance games against aston villa hull city and stoke city arsenal needed to come out with six points for each game that's home and away. secondly arsenal needs to regain back the spirit of the UNBEATEN RUN we really miss that football with zeal

I'm sorry, Toure, but the gap is big between Arsenal and the Top 3. The whole thing about playing in a league game is consistency. It is not only the big games that you need to be well organised. You need to be organised for ALL 38 games! You must play with your heart and head for ALL 38 games.
