Wenger wary of City and Villa threat

Manager Arsène Wenger is wary of the threat posed by clubs such as Manchester City and Aston Villa, both of which have the potential to improve on the previous season.

City are financed by their billionaire investor whereas Aston Villa have pushed Arsenal all the way for the final Champions League spot.

Wenger said: "If Manchester City have a successful period in the buying, financial market, then they could climb to the top four.

"Aston Villa can get a bit closer. Then you have teams like Tottenham."

AM surprised that prof. Assen Wenger could be entertaining fear of being overthrown by the likes of Man city and ASTONL Villa ,when we are thinking of having trophies this coming season.Pls wenger should know that we wouldnt take any excuse if he doesnt win trophies this season. He need players like Richards of Mancity in his defence if he want to be relevant in the coming season.

Mr Manager, your worry should be how to win trophies not marely to be in the first four! Most fans have pointed out the major weaknesses in our team. You should address those weaknesses by adding three very experienced players namely: a good stricker, central defender and a good goal keeper. Reorganize the team by placing players in positions where they are most suitable. E.g Adebayor should not play as a striker, play him behind strickers, Wallcot is always tightly marked in the wing, give him a wide role so is Ashavin, etc. Arsenal players are very good young and play as a team. They will perform much better if you reoganise the team. Some of us do not see the cause for worry.

correct we need a couple of players with bite, like mascerano someone who will defend and let cesc penatrate, like senna.sell walcott cos all he s got is speed , no skill, no strength, no brain,no heart, and can t score and can t cross aball, so wot good is he, or am i dreaming all this, does any body out there agree with me plus djourou n diaby arnt good enough diaby is an accident waiting to happen. Wenger is great and he can see somrthing in these players in training,BUT IN TRAINING ARSENAL DONT TACKLE HARD, PUSH AND SHOVE EACH OTHER, BATTLE TO WIN,THEY LOVE TO PLAY NONE CONTACT FANCY FOOTBALL IT LOOKS GOOD AGAINST SHEFF UTD AND WEST BROM, ANY WAY WOT DO I KNOW ABOUT FOOTBALL I M JUST A RAILWAY ENGINNEER WHO USED TO PLAY AND MANAGE PUB TEAMS AND NOW MANAGE JUNIOR FOOTBALL. yours truly Alan.

To wary for the team like Villa and Man City only showing we are team which only targeting 3rd to 4th place! Scrap the team together, sell some of the not so young players who is yet ready to play for Arsenal. Add that to our kitty transfer wallet and buy some quality player.

why would i be worried about VIlla and City if we can put a team together that can win the EPL i would not worry so much about who comes after...the only time i would do that is if i have not ambition i hope you have the ambition this season Mr wenger???

its one thing to buy the superstars but u have to manage them to get the results . aston villa are looking favourites to break in the top four but have to replace barry with a quality player

Wenger sounds like confessing he don't use to get the necessary funds required to bring in players he would have wanted. This is contrary to prevoius talks of him always rejecting a sizeable funds meanrt for spending in each season's transfer market in preference to bring young talents to be nutured.
