Fabregas: I'm not going to Real Madrid

After watching Spanish giant Real Madrid snap-up two world class midfielders for close to £150 million, many Arsenal fans might be worried about the future of their captain.

But midfielder Francesc Fabregas has said that he's staying in North London and ready to lead his club onto the pitch next season.

Fabregas said: "Of course I see my future at Arsenal. I have a long contract with the club.

"I would have never signed that if I did not think I was capable of making it [to the end of the deal]. The boss knows that I really want to stay here.

"What you cannot stop is what people say about you. The press can write or say whatever they want.

"Since I was 18, they have been saying [he is seeking a transfer], but I am still here.

"I hope I can be at Arsenal for many years and lift trophies like the Champions League, the Premier League, FA Cups.

"I am really looking forward to it because I am sure the future is bright here."

any time any day i love fabregas and i know he cant dissapoint me. he is arsenal's captain 4 life and also the best midfielder in england now. please the coach should sign good and experienced strikers that will complement his work he is a hardworker and deserves trophies.

Francesc Fabregas is one of the stars we have in Arsenal. But as a captain he is still lacking the experience of how to mobilize his team to meet challenges while on the pitch when the players are not in touch with the manager. We have seen situations where the opponents change playing strategy and make it impossible for Arsenal to score. We only see responses after half time possibly after consulting with mr Wenger. A football captain is like a field commander in a battle field. There are situations when the field commander is cut off from his boss, some times the army might be faced with critical situation, where he has to take quick and intelligent decision. In my view our captain has to improve in this area.
On the issue of getting worried when a good player leaves, fellow fans we should always encourage team spirit and our boys should learn how to continue performing well without any individual player. Whether you like it or not individual players will always leave. Henry left us when almost the entire Arsenal community wanted him to stay, but because of team spirit, our boys performed even better without him in the following season. What about Ronaldo, who in MANU wanted him to go? hasn't he gone? Fellow fans let us make constructive comments to assist our manager to improve the team. Individual players will always go whenever they want.

I love fabregas.He is the best.He has grown and i only wish he lifts the trophies.The team should be built around him and Arshavin.These two are key to our success next season.They bring uniquesness and quality.But AW should be more creative.

everytime he is questioned on his loyalty he comes out with the same thing, and it still the press try and try. this guy is our captain, the heartbeat of our team, and he knows better than us as to the capabilities of the players at the club, that he trains with everyday. he wouldn't stay if he didn't think we can challenge, and with a couple of new signings (we all know where they need to be!) we're golden.

Am very happy with what my player exposed about himself. I will like him to stay because, if all arsenal players can stay next coming season to unit together and do the job uniformly, i can asure wenger that next season will favour him in almost all the leagues, because they known themselve's performanced and the ambition they have within themselves as a player now. so i will urge wenger not to make any attempt to sell any player now, if not what happened last season will still repeat it self back, which involved some players like flamini.
