Wenger: Why I'm still at Arsenal

Manager Arsène Wenger has said that the reason why he's turned down mega offers from continental clubs is because he wants to see his project at Arsenal come to fruition.

The Frenchman admits that he is not a fan of big-spending clubs, and instead wants to focus on building the foundation of a club from the grass level.

This is in stark contrast to the policy of Real Madrid, who have just spent close to £200 million on the transfer and wages of two players.

Wenger said: “Real Madrid is a football-oriented show, but there is another dimension in this game: the success of building a team with a style, a knowledge, a culture of your own game at a club with young people.

“This project [at Arsenal] is in construction and I want to see it through to the end.

"My enjoyment comes from seeing us play football like that.â€

If it wasnt for Mr.Wenger we would no have such players as Fabregas who was playin in barca's second team, Adebayor who Marseille had given up on, Arshavin who noone realised his quality.
All good things take time, if you dont like it support another team.

The premier league gets tougher year in year out.for Arsenal 2 win d league,AW needs 2 be more creative and talk less about beautiful football and more about survival skills.trophies matter.we all saw thierry henry and hleb celebrating after defeating Man. united.

Manager Wenger, many of us are fully behind you. All we ask you is to take some of our advices and improve the team. Sometimes you insist on something despite the outcry of fans. For example we have always told you to improve the stricking line and defence. Those weaknesses are not new but sometimes you take long to act. We are waiting for a new stricker, we hope you will act before the transfer period ends.
May the Lord bless Arsenal.

I'm proud to have him as my team's manager. He stays with his team, Believes in his players and is trying something for the future when giggs or scholes's generation are gone. It is amazing he is still here with all the clubs that want him.

All projects need to be tweaked every once in a while. It doesn't mean the original plan is flawed, it just means ur adjusting to unforeseen circumstances...4 trophiless seasons, for instance.

It's taking too long for the fans get their reward (Silverware) after spending so much to support the team, season in season out for the past four seasons. When prof?

With due respect Mr. Wenger, we need a few players to strengthen the team especially in Mid field.

I think even with the time that we have been left without silverware, soon will come a future that our well built and sculpted team will carry multiple silverware over multiple seasons on the pitch. Everyone can go BUY a piece of art that priceless, but not everyone can go MAKE a piece of art that is priceless. And making a piece of art can take time, but once its made and perfected it will be worth much much more. I will gladly wait to reap our rewards in the future.

I don't mind waiting. But,just make sure when the 'project' works,we'll have trophies comin our way consecutively. That will do for sure.Hope it's gonna be next season!Crunch time!

I'd personally wait another 3 trophyless seasons to experience a truly great arsenal team, or perhaps even the greatest arsenal team. The source of anxiety for me is not to win a trophy asap, but the same as Mr Wenger above.

Arsen Wenger knows what he is doing. He is not just olny a coach. Wer should consider that a person like him with high educational back ground should always see all aspects of the club status. For sure he can bring a tropy by buying stars with a lot mega money. But that could not happen in his era. He has his view in football in which I gree with. Of course as supporter of the club I need to see achievements. But we should let Wenger to work and support in his view of football. I know it is a lot years for Arsenal to pick a tropy but it is all for good. There is always critics until you show what you are doing is right. For that to happen, it is a matter of time. How long? Not far.

keith - people like you are everything that's wrong at this football club. apart from the fact Wenger being the best manager this club has ever had, there is still a lot of the summer left!
Wenger has already spent 10 million on a new defender.
why don't you try SUPPORTING for a change?

Ahh all of you shut up... You think Wenegr is wrong? Go sit in the damn manger's seat for one day and we'll see how much better you do. No matter how long this project takes, its going to be completed. And when it comes to 'fruition'you people might actually learn a thing or two about patience, and how much it pays off.

Keith, fans like your are a disgrace, I bet you are one of the johnny-come-lately fans who have only known success. Fans are people who support their clubs through thick and thin, not your sort. Frankly, Arsenal will do well to not have your kind of support. If your sick of supporting Arsenal, you can find some other club to give your valuable support.

I am a big fan of Wenger and his tactics but i think it's time his project starts to work and bear fruit .....More than adding people to the team or training our already assembled team, i think we need to train our players mentally also to instill a feelin of oneness. Then only our guys will not talk abt leavin the team for a better club and blah blah, we need the team spirit that was there durin the days of tany admas , lyunberg, berkamp, henry, etc

Great man, one day we will have a team with all the players coming from our own academy. They will have the real love for the club because of that & will stick with us for longer than the big name foreign players.

as much as i believe in arsene, we are getting antsy and impatient, not good enough to keep saying injuries and lack of a substansial war chest. we will always support but almost maybes is harder to live with than the rest of the no hopers

That's all well and good for you Arsene but what about the fans, year after year with no trophies and the prospect of any just getting further away by the day.A miracle will be required next term just to stay in the top 4 !
