Manager Arsène Wenger has said that the upcoming 2009/10 season will be decisive in determining his squad's progression from raw talent to trophy winners.
The Frenchman also said that he would not be looking to make that many signing on a squad he feels is capable of challenging for honours on all fronts.
Wenger said: "We will set out again with the same players. An anti-Real policy has been established.
"We are building a style over time, a little like Barça. We don’t particularly need reinforcements, that depends on the departures.
"We have a young team, average age 22/23, which is maturing even if it is still sometimes lacking as in semi-final of the Champions League this season.
"We lost all our midfield at the beginning of season with the departures of Hleb and Flamini then the long injury of Rosicky. We have rebuilt now.
"We were eliminated too early from the title race, which hurt, but we hardly lost after November."

Can we buy John Obi Mikel from Chelsea?
I think we need him in the squad if available.

I would just like to say that this policy of youth is shit and needs to be scrapped for the sake of us winning trophy's.

Before a ball was kicked last season it was obvious to all that we needed a tall, physical CB and a midfield partner for Fabregas.
This summer it is still obvious that we lack height at the back (despite signing Vermaelen) and that Fabregas still doesn't have a partner. Maybe, being younger than Flamini was when he had his one good season, Denilson or Song will do the job. The problem is that Wenger has been living off maybes for four years.
We are two players short of a title winning squad again. Last season, for whatever reason, Wenger failed to sign those two players. For this reason, he and his 'maybe' players took a lot of stick from fans this season. If he fails to make the signings and the maybe men don't step up then expect even more unrest from supporters next season!!!
