Eduardo clarifies Taylor apology confusion

Striker Eduardo da Silva has moved to clarify the confusion on whether Birmingham defender Martin Taylor had actually apologised to him.

Conflicting media reports indicated that Taylor had visited Eduardo but never actually apologised to him, whereas some reported that Taylor never actually visited Eduardo.

Speaking to 442 magazine, Eduardo said: "He [Taylor] went to the hospital when I was having surgery, but I was unconscious.

"My wife headed to the hospital right after the incident and she was in the waiting room when the Arsenal doctor asked her if she would speak to Taylor.

"Taylor had his daughter or son with him and he or she had drawn the flag of Croatia on a piece of paper, so my wife had previously thought they were my fans.

"Then, before my comeback in the Reserves, he sent an email to Arsenal saying he was happy to know I was going to be back. And that was all.”

Don't blame dudu! The media pulls the strings on this. Dudu says Taylor came by and thats good enough. Its only an honest answer by dudu. Eduardo would probably much rather forget this than drag it on as it has put a serious dent in his career

Listen Taylor Fans!!!...... oh ya.. there are none.. Taylor is a Goon and should have been banned for life for this assult. I'm certain that most commenting havent even witnessed the event, just need something to say. Taylor was told, and this is my claim only, that he was told by the FA to target Eduardo and cripple him and the Croatian National team for ousting England from the World Cup... What a complete joke, this tackle had full intent, full disrespect and the way it was handled by the FA Scum administration is deplorable... Blatter and Platini tried stepping in to over-rule the FA's decision, WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU???? that tells you that Eduardo, over-dramatisized? that Arsene wasn't in the right to complain? You who think that Taylor shouldnt be hung by his boot laces are as deplorable as the entire FA.. I've lost respect (what little there is) for the FA... Oh, and BTW Engerland! once you have a decent team I'm sure you will actually win something on the international stage, however it will not be in our lifetime... JOHN TERRY!?!?! What a JOKE!!

HAHA! You Gooners make me chuckle! Butcher Taylor?! Vile tackle? Butcher of Birmingham? Get a grip! It's not like it was a malicious tackle! I did feel for Eduardo but following the reaction from him, Wenger and the rest of the club, I honestly couldn't give one! The reaction was a disgrace. More of a disgrace than the tackle. Wenger saying he should be banned for life? Did he ever watch Vieira play the dirty git? Don't suppose he ever saw him do any wrong though, eh?

how much longer is this going to go on for?

it seems that edourdo will comment on it at the drop of a hat.....grow up, get on, get over it.

Taylor made every effort to contact him. if edourdo was too busy living on his humungous wages to check his email, see his 'people', live in the real world then he is a sad individual.

Play football edourdo, don't keep dragging stuff up to get publicity.

I think Taylor did very well.
Considering the paranoia (not helped by Wenger) that surrounded the accident, and considering the death threats and all that usual rubbish, Taylor did very well.
He supported Eduardo and apologised, he didn't inflame the situation by doing any media - instead most of his support in the media came from numerous managers and players who knew Taylor's character.

Accidents in contact sport happen, and it about time this self-pity is overcome and people moved on.

Its time to move on now. Taylor has clearly attempted to apologise which is the right thing to do. It's good to see Eduardo back, lets hope he has a good season.

Arsenal lost my respect after that game. Wenger and Fabrigas went beserk and made stupid claims about Taylor. Taylor is not a brilliant footballer and made a late tackle on a brilliant footballer full stop. Arsenal's overreaction was pathetic.

that story must end now! If Eduardo feels like getting into the papers every now and then, he should talk about football!

dont care if he said sorry or not. it was a vile tackle that deserved heavier punishment. On top of that Eddy was just hitting top form and god knows what difference it would have made to our future.

why are people still going on about this? Taylor made a misjudgement- it wasnt even a bad tackle it was just mis-timed it certainly wasn't deserved of a Red Card!
Obviously Taylor massively regrets it, he visted Eduardo in hospital and followed it up- i mean its hardly like he did it maliciuosly like Roy Keane would have!
I'm not Taylor's biggest fan and i'm a Birmingham City supporter but i still cant believe we are still talking about an accident nearly a year after it happened!

One can't imagine, a person would end up in hospital merely playing a football game. No thanks to Butcher Taylor, Eduardo's wife and children were praying for their husband/father. While Eduardo discharged from hospital and in recuperation, Butcher Taylor and his family went for holiday during the summer break.

Taylor must be living very well!

What more does Eduardo want? Taylor has apologised, get over it and move on. Worse things happen.
