Manager Arsène Wenger has said that today's friendly against Barnet was a good warm-up match, especially as it was to improve the overall fitness of the squad.
It was the Gunners' first game of the new season and it ended in a 2-2 draw, with goals from Andrey Arshavin and Nacer Barazite.
Despite not winning, Wenger was pleased with his side's performance, saying: "Yes there were some good performances, we had 14 players at home but it was still a good game. Barnet gave us a good run out and for the first game it was quite good.
"We played basically with the Youth Cup-winning team in the second half and in the first half it was interesting because we were challenged physically. Barnet were well organized, committed and to improve our fitness it was just ideal.
"From Monday on everybody is in the same boat because the 14 players who weren't here today will start to be competitive from Tuesday onwards."
