Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp confirmed that he is indeed after the services of former Arsenal captain and midfield general Patrick Vieira.
The 33-year-old Inter Milan defender is apparently looking for his next move and Redknapp feels that coming back to England and playing for Arsenal's arch-rivals would be the logical next step for him.
Redknapp, speaking after last night's 1-1 draw with FC Barcelona in the Wembley Cup, said: "I'm still interested in Patrick, I would like him.
"What's he done wrong? He hasn't killed anyone, he's just a great player who played for Arsenal.
"If he wants to come to Tottenham it shows you about his character. He wants to come and play, he's a fantastic player and wants to play here."
I'm hoping that Vieira gives Spurs the same responses his fellow musketeers Robért Píres and Thierry Henry gave when other London clubs came calling: "I'm a Gooner," Henry on transfer speculation from Chelsea, and Píres on interest from Tottenham: "Don't they know who I used to play for?"

Why didn't we just sign him? As player + coach position. I reckon he still can provide some back up should we fall to terrible situation plus he have the experience which would be good for the youngster to learn. I particularly hoping he could be a good mentor to Alex Song.
