Former Arsenal captain Thierry Henry has said that his best friend Patrick Vieira still loves Arsenal and would never think about joining arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Reports over the weekend indicated that Spurs manager Harry Redknapp had sought Henry's advice on a potential signing of Vieira.
The Frenchman told Redknapp that it would be brilliant for Spurs if Vieira did sign, but upon further clarification, Henry has now revealed that he also said that he would be surprised if Vieira did indeed sign.
Henry said: "I am Arsenal through and through. I'd never advise anyone to sign for Tottenham.
"I can't have Arsenal fans thinking I am helping Tottenham in any way.
"The truth is I was talking to Spurs boss Harry Redknapp and he told me he was trying to sign Patrick from Inter Milan.
"I was very surprised because Patrick is like me. He loves Arsenal.
"I just said that Patrick would be a brilliant signing. But I also made it clear I would be shocked if it happened."
There is debate amongst Arsenal fans on how they would feel if Vieira did indeed sign for their local rivals. That can be put to rest now as it's highly unlikely that the former captain will be plying his trade at White Hart Lane.

Bring him back to arsenal, ok not at his best at 33 but still has somehting to offer us. We never did replace him properly. Plus imagine the help he could give song, diaby and denilson.
