Ahead of the third Emirates Cup, manager Arsène Wenger says that competition should carry on every year because the calibre of opposition in it is unmatched in Europe.
European champions Barcelona recently competed in the first Wembley Cup against (amongst two other teams) Tottenham Hotspur, so I think we all agree on the manager's point re 'quality of opposition'.
In previous seasons, the likes of Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Juventus have all taken part in the Emirates Cup. This year, Arsenal will be going up against Atletico Madrid and Rangers, with Paris St. Germain also taking part.
Speaking to the official site, Wenger said: "I would love it for the Emirates Cup to last forever.
"It's good to know that in every pre-season we would have this kind of tournament.
"I look around and don't see any other tournament of the same calibre."
The Emirates Cup kicks off this tomorrow.
