A certain 17-year-old was voted Man of the Match after today's game against Spanish side Atletico Madrid. Jack Wilshere showed surprising maturity and vision on the ball, and manager Arsène Wenger today confirmed that the fans would be seeing more of Wilshere next season.
Today we saw a youngster who could not only dribble, play through balls or cross with his favoured left foot, but also with his weaker right, as he dinked and danced around the tackling Madrid players, all of whom were trailing in his wake.
UPDATE: Apologies for the mistake, I thought young Wilshere was right-footed when he is in fact a lefty.
Wenger said: "He has matured, and compared to one year ago he has more power to take people on.
"That shows there is big potential there and makes him much more dangerous, he has gained a fraction of power that makes him much more dangerous.
"When he starts to go past people in the final 20 yards, you can always say there is something special there.
"At that age, unfortunately patience is not the first quality, but he is at a big club and has a chance to compete at the top level.
"We have to manage that well, the desire and the opportunity to play. The potential is there.
"I feel he can play in some games. Wilshere is more a player that goes past people using power whereas Cesc was more of a passer of the ball.
"Wilshere is a guy who provokes, goes past people and destabilises people and already in the pre-season we have noticed he has gained power."

Yes Arsenal won the game and we have strong attacking options.Bear in mind this team finsh fourth in the la liga.As usual the defence went awol two after Arsenal had taken the lead.
Until and unless AW cures the team of this bad habit, I'm afraid finishing to qualify for the cl will be tough.

he's 17 and he's taller than Arshavin so it doesn't matter how tall her is.. but he needs to get in the gym and pull a Walcott and stack on some muscle

Jack Wilshere is left footed, and his weaker foot is his right.
