Sagna: It is good to have Tomas back

Defender Bacary Sagna says that he's happy with the return of winger Tomas Rosicky to first team action. Rosicky had been out of action since January 2008 with a long-term injury and only returned to competitive action this weekend, playing in the Emirates Cup.

Rosicky is however, being eased back into the team and played in the first half against Atletico Madrid and in the latter part of the second half against Rangers, but showed some good touches and had a goal disallowed for a marginal offside.

The Czech Republic international's return is timely, especially with winger Samir Nasri estimated to be out of action for at least a couple of months with a fracture. Sagna said: "I'm very, very happy for Tomas. He did well as well and it has been hard for him. He has had a tough time so he deserves his chance to come back.

"I can't imagine how it must have been for him to be out for so long. It shows that he has a strong character and we will need that.

"He will bring some new power and a different style of game. I think Tomas is a very technical player in the middle of the park and I am sure he can make a difference.

"He is one of our experienced players and that will help us as well. We will need Tomas like we will need everyone. With Samir [Nasri] out injured he has the potential to play and I am sure he will do it well."
