More praise for young Jack Wilshere, this time from former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour who says that the 17-year-old was "different class" over the weekend in the annual Emirates Cup tournament.
Wilshere was voted Man of the Match in the two Emirates Cup matches that he played in and also scored two well-taken goals against Scottish champions Rangers.
Parlour says that Wilshere's success in the first team is an example to young players everywhere that they can come through the ranks and succeed at a big club such as Arsenal (though you have to be quite the talent!).
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Parlour said: "Jack Wilshere at the weekend was absolutely different class and that's a benchmark for these young kids.
"They look at Jack and realise that if they are good enough they will get in the side.
"I'm just hoping they all take a bit more confidence by looking at Jack. Sanchez Watt was on the bench as well (against Rangers) and he got a taste of first team football. Kieran Gibbs has also made the step up this year and he's done absolutely brilliantly.
"I do a lot of co-commentary on the reserves and there are a lot of good players in that team."
