Djourou injured

You have to begin to worry about the fragility of our players as defender Johan Djourou has had to withdraw from international duty with a suspected knee injury.
The Swiss international is now returning to the Emirates for treatment. He will miss the match against Italy. Switzerland coach Ottmar Hitzfeld told the Swiss FA's official website: "We don't want to take an unnecessary risk shortly before the start of his club's season."
Well, if you didn't want to take any unnecessary risks, why do we have meaningless friendlies just before the season starts?
Thank goodness that new signing Thomas Vermaelen is in contention for the match against Everton this weekend, or we would have seen a William Gallas and Mikael Silvestre partnership away to Everton.
The club haven't commented on the seriousness of Djourou's injury but expect something tomorrow.
