Defender Bacary Sagna has praised the support and atmosphere at Celtic Park last night as the Gunners secured two away goals without reply in the first leg of the Champions League qualifying round.
Arsenal became the first English side to win at Celtic's ground in 26 years, with both Liverpool and Manchester United failing to emerge on the winning side before.
And Sagna says that the fanatical support from the Celtic faithful made it more difficult match to play in, together with the high tempo and ferocious tackles that were flying in especially from the midfield area.
Sagna said: "It was hard to stay focused on the pitch. It's difficult to play against this kind of atmosphere. It is one of the most amazing I have ever witnessed. But we did quite well with it.
"The danger was to come here after such a good win and take it easy but we stayed focused and defended as a team and played as a team.
"We were confident, we want to play good football and achieve some things this season. It was a strange first goal but that's football and I think we deserved the luck.
"They have a good team with good players and we have to be careful [in the return leg]."
Whilst many will point to the fortunate circumstances in which the two Arsenal goals came, there was no denying that the North London club made their own luck last night, and now have one foot in the group stages of Europe's premier competition.
