Midfielder Abou Diaby is confident that him and his team can challenge any one this season. The Frenchman's confidence comes after Arsenal maintained their perfect start to the season with a 4-1 win over Portsmouth.
Diaby scored two goals in the match, underlining the good form that he's currently enjoying especially after being injured at various intervals during his Arsenal career.
The 23-year-old said: "It was my first full game because I'd had a few injuries in pre-season. So to score two goals and have the team winning was a very good day for me.
"It's given us a lot of confidence. We have some big games coming up in the future and we have to be ready.
"I feel we can definitely challenge everyone this season. We are ready to fight and to get something this year."
Manager Arsène Wenger has likened "fantastic" Diaby to former captain Patrick Vieira, saying that this could be the midfielder's season, saying: "He looks completely similar to Patrick when he tries to win the ball. But he is a guy who has a quick transition from defence to offence, from box to box, that is his fantastic strength, to change quickly.
"Nobody can go with him when he has that, when we are on the counter-attack. He is fantastic."
