Despite losing to Manchester United, manager Arsène Wenger is confident that this Arsenal side can challenge for the Premiership title.
The Frenchman praised the performance of his team in the face of adversity, seeing them take the lead in the first half and then surrendering the lead through a penalty and an own goal.
But the Gunners pinned United back in their own backyard as they chased for an equaliser and Robin van Persie had a goal disallowed deep in injury time.
Wenger praised the mental resilience and maturity of his squad, saying that whilst there were still some problems to iron out, their performance was very mature.
The 59-year-old said: "I think we're equipped to challenge for the title. United can improve, but when you compare the performances of the two teams they won a game they shouldn't have won.
"I think we were a bit too nervous and rushed our decisions in certain situations.
"We looked mature in terms of the positions we took up, but individually still there is some nervousness in certain situations.
"We were very strong and I'm still very confident. I just hope this undeserved defeat will not knock our confidence. I hope we respond well in two weeks."
