Rosicky: I'm fit and ready

Winger Tomas Rosicky has declared himself fit to play in his country's upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.

The Czech Republic international has been injured since early2008, but has made progress in his recovery and looks set to make a return to competitive action.

Rosicky played in Arsenal's pre-season campaign, notably in the Emirates Cup but was used sparingly as a precaution before another injury hampered his return.

He's also taken part in some light training sessions, and was available to face Manchester United last weekend, but was not selected as a precaution.

Rosicky confirmed that it irked manager Arsène Wenger somewhat that the Czech Republic will now benefit from Rosicky's rest.

He said: "There has been no trouble in training for Arsenal but I must try out some things yet, as the training sessions were rather light. Anyway, I believe I will be prepared.

"The manager told me that I would not face United because he did not want to take the risk.

"Of course, he was not excited when I told him I would be going to play for my country. But there is no reason for me not going. If I am 100 per cent, then why couldn't I play?"
