Bendtner: Goals, goals, goals

Striker Nicklas Bendtner admits that he's aware of the need to be more prolific if he's to be manager Arsène Wenger's first choice in the team, and that would confirm that he is a top, top striker.

The Danish international scored a beautiful goal for his country against Portugal over the weekend, but insists that there is still more to be done in order to secure himself a first team place.

But Bendtner, who is still only 21, has said that it's also not about personal glory in a club with a heavy team ethos. The Dane says that if he would be happy if he doesn't meet his goals target, but has helped his team mates score.

He said: "In order to qualify as one of the world's greatest attackers, then you are judged on the number of goals you score.

"You could have all the characteristics but if you don't score people can say 'Yes, he knows all the stuff but he has just scored 10 goals in 40 games.'

"Of course that's not a good record. I hope to see that I score 20-25 goals in 40 games.

"But if I get a Premier League season where I score 10 times and have 30 assists, I think that would be OK as well."
