In an interview with Champions Magazine, defender Bacary Sagna quite boldly stated that his team are capable of winning trophies this season.
Arsenal are widely-tipped to endure another trophyless season but there is a clear intent within the squad that seems to indicate that the players have the belief to end the club's trophy drought.
The full-back explained that the ability was in the squad last season, but admitted that the players got complacent and perhaps, didn't quite believe in themselves.
Sagna said: "Of course we can do it [win trophies]. Last year I don't know what we missed, but it was nothing.
"At the beginning of last season we were sleeping. I don't know why... maybe we were still on holiday.
"But when we started playing our own game, when we realised, we played better football."
The Gunners have had a flying start to the season, despite losing in controversial circumstances to Manchester United. They are currently sixth in the league, having played a game less but already have a goal difference of +7.
