Manager Arsène Wenger has called on Arsenal fans to show their class today and treat their former players with the respect they deserve.
The Gunners take on Manchester City today and in an eventful summer transfer window, saw Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Touré move to the blue half of Manchester.
Adebayor especially left under a cloud, after having several run-ins with the fans which were made worse by the fact that he never found the form that saw him score 30 goals in a season.
Wenger said: "We were very happy [with him]. It shows you that when players come here they don't waste their time. They develop well. He improved well in a short space of time.
"Last season there was a bit of a grey area at some stage. It was because of the question 'Does he go or not go'? That is why.
"I want all our former players to be respected, they have done things for the Club and they should get respect."
Adebayor has gotten off to a flying start at City, scoring in all of their league games so far, and Touré has been made team captain.
