Winger Tomas Rosicky has said that there has been no discussions between him and the club regarding a contract extension.
The Czech Republic international's contract ends at the end of the season and he will be free to start negotiations with any club in the January transfer window.
Rosicky, who has just returned from a 20 month absence due to injury, is now focusing on staying fit and getting as many games as possible under his belt.
He said: "I have spoken with Mr Wenger on this matter. It is not the most actual thing, though, and there are no negotiations running these days.
"I know that even if I haven't reached an agreement with Arsenal, then I would still be able to find a new club to play for, although it might sound too self-confident.
"The most important thing for me is to stay healthy and I would not like to comment on it any further.
"I'm feeling much better these days. Although I've been substituted most recently around the 70th minute I don't feel tired and easily could play full 90 minutes.
"There is no problem with my fitness. I think I am on the right course. Out of the six fixtures I have been in the starting XI three times and three times I appeared as a substitute.
"Coach Wenger has been gradually applying the burden on me and I feel that it has been better and better. I am glad that it has been working like that."
It does make you wonder why the club tends to leave contract negotiations so late. We've seen it with players like Mathieu Flamini. You feel that these players should have had their futures tied down way before the situation got complicated.
