Manager Arsène Wenger does not believe winger Theo Walcott is injury prone, despite only having made his first start in October but now being ruled out for another three to four weeks with medial knee ligament damage.
Walcott suffered a heavy challenge from Birmingham City player Liam Ridgewell and had to be substituted in the match over the weekend.
Walcott has only just recovered from two shoulder injuries and this latest injury has put concerns in his own mind about whether he is part of England manager Fabio Capello's plans for the World Cup.
Wenger said: "Theo is the type of player who controls the ball on the first touch.
"That is the biggest problem for strikers. When they are injured, will they continue to play like they did?
"Theo has had two shoulder surgeries that were from a genetic weakness [from his father] but, for the rest, I don't believe he is injury-prone.
"I believe Theo is worried about the World Cup, certainly, but I don't think there's any reason to worry now.
"He will be in the squad. It's October and he has an injury of two-three weeks. I say four to be covered."
